Such a system would be able to provide coverage on the basis of all the millions of cellular networks. A huge number of mobile phones equipped with sensors of radiation will allow us to detect even light residues of radioactive material. Since modern cell phones can be tracked through the mobile network, this same network can operate to control the movement of radioactive elements.
The system was developed by Andrew Longmenom, technician and consultant. He created the software portion of the system, and then began working with scientists from the University of Purdue, who created the hardware, equipping cell phones with miniature dosimeters. Tests were conducted on the basis of the network operator AT.
